LABOUR Cllr And Former MP Under Investigation – Says He Has No Sympathy For Holocaust Victims And Blames Britain’s Problems On Jews

THE Labour Party is clearly still the party of antisemitism, with yet another Councillor joining the countless rabble placed under investigation for alleged Jew-hate.

Labour Councillor Jim Sheridan, a former MP who was suspended from the party in 2018 after shockingly stating that he no longer felt sympathy for victims of the holocaust, was welcomed back into the fold – only to now be placed under investigation again for defending his previous comments.

ANTISEMITE: Councillor and former MP Jim Sheridan

“For almost all my adult life I have had the utmost respect and empathy for the Jewish community and their historic suffering” the Renfrewshire Councillor said on Facebook in 2018.

“But no longer, due to what they [the Jews] and their Blairite plotters are doing to my party and the long suffering people of Britain who need a radical Labour government.”

Sheridan was reinstated into the party, yet last week said that he stood by his antisemitic comments, referring to them as ‘perfectly reasonable’, before going on a tirade in defence of Jeremy Corbyn.

“I feel I must make a contribution to this debate about free speech. As someone who was personally attacked for contributing, or making, what I thought was perfectly reasonable comments about anti-semitism, I was attacked for free speech.

He added: “And I also include, provost, the former leader of the Labour party, who was thrown out of the Labour party for expressing free speech.”

Labour source blasted him: “Jim Sheridan’s outburst is ill-considered and his comments are completely inappropriate. It would also appear he has recanted his previous apology and I’m sure the party will wish to consider this fully.”

A Labour party spokesman said: “Scottish Labour takes all complaints of antisemitism extremely seriously and they are fully investigated in line with our rules and procedures, and any appropriate disciplinary action is taken.”

Yet this generic response is a hollow one. For over three years now, VoteWatch has reported on Labour antisemitism, with almost one Councillor a week being suspended for vile anti-Semitic remarks – and many reinstated after the same statement is regurgitated over and over: “Labour takes all complaints of antisemitism seriously”.

Clearly, the Labour Party is not only lying when it claims to be taking antisemitism seriously; but is actively defending and supporting racists and Jew-haters within its ranks.
