A LABOUR Councillor from Manchester suspended last year in mysterious circumstances, has been officially charged today over the alleged historical rape of a minor.
Carl Ollerhead, 40, was suspended by the town hall’s Labour group last year after the below allegations were made on social media.
Ollerhead has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, following an investigation by Staffordshire Police’s rape and serious sexual offences team.
Mr Ollerhead was first elected to Manchester council in 2012 to represent Didsbury West. He was later elected to represent the Moston ward in 2016 and re-elected in 2018.
Before his suspension in June last year, Mr Ollerhead was serving as the council’s executive member for finance and human resources.
He will appear before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on the 28th September.
