DONALD Trump has finally acknowledged that Joe Biden has won the election to become the next President of the United States of America, yet issued a scathing review of the victory that reiterated his so-far unsubstantiated claims of widespread electoral fraud.
The tweet signals a gradual turning point that follows a spate of dramatic tweets by the President who has until now declared himself to be the winner of the tumultuous election.
So far, the vast majority of Trump’s voter fraud accusations have either been accompanied by no evidence or have been exposed as being false.
A thread containing many of the viral claims can be read below.
Realising that his tweet essentially accepted the result, the President then tried to backtrack, tapping-out two further tweets riddled with his customary capitalised letters.
While the President continues to challenge the results in various key states, many of his lawsuits have been dismissed, with legal firms slowly walking away in objection to pressing forward in court without necessary evidence to stand a chance at success.
It has also been pointed out that, even should all of the Republican claims be successful in court, they do not relate to enough votes to change the outcome of the election.
Joe Biden is set to be sworn in as the 46th President in early January, 2021.
