A MANCHESTER Labour Councillor has been suspended after photographs revealed he breached coronavirus travel regulations by flying to Pakistan to attend a wedding.
Images show Cllr Aftab Razaq posing with guests without masks or social distancing after they were posted on Facebook on February 14th.

The pictures were tagged at a restaurant and banquet hall in Pakistan.
Under current UK Covid-19 restrictions, it is illegal for people to travel abroad for holidays and other leisure purposes, and British citizens must not travel abroard unless they have a legally permitted reason to do so.

Councillor Razaq, who lives in Chorlton, represents the Whalley Range ward on Manchester council for the Labour party. Yet Labour officials in Manchester have now confirmed that Razaq has been suspended, that an investigation was underway and that they were attempting to contact him ‘urgently’ after the councillor appears to have gone AWOL – presumed to still be in Pakistan.
