HUGE Push To BUY BRITISH Sees Thousands Switch Brands And Gov Petition Launched

BUY local, buy British – that is the key message being shared across the nation as consumers swap their usual brands in favour of British-made goods and mouth-watering local produce.

Latests statistics are already showing that, post-Brexit, British consumers are increasingly making the conscious decision to support the economy and enjoy brands and services from home rather than overseas – with over 30,000 people joining one Facebook group alone, all proudly promoting various goods, from Lincolnshire sausages to London boutique fashion.

Now, adding to the growing trend, and while it is needed more than ever as the country comes to grips with the financial chaos that the Coronavirus pandemic has inflicted upon Britain, one patriot has even launched a government petition.

Similar campaigns have seen great success over the decades as well as helping boost the economy

The petition, launched by Ash Hirani, puts forward a smart and increasingly popular proposal: “Create a government approved register and Union flag logo/mark for UK made goods”.

“We call on the UK government to implement a central register of UK manufacturers, and to permit them to use a strictly controlled logo based on the design of the Union flag, in order to raise the profile of UK made goods and manufacturers, and to make it easier for domestic consumers to Buy British” the petition reads.

“There are various privately run schemes and initiatives that promote UK manufacturing. In order to accelerate the growth of our economy, and to Build Back Better post Covid-19, we petitioners believe that a government backed scheme would add a great deal of intrinsic value to UK manufactured goods and, potentially, encourage not only reshoring, but also attract new foreign investment in UK manufacturing activities.”

Speaking to VoteWatch, Mr Hirani said:

“Buying British may, for some, do nothing but conjure up images of jingoistic flag waving and Nationalism. For me, Buying British is an economic argument, and one which usually serves the lowest paid working classes, probably more so than it does any particular business, even the largest of multi-national corporations.

“Increased demand for UK made goods not only keeps our money circulating in the UK, but it also creates jobs for people at the lower end of the pay scale, whilst being a source of revenue for the Exchequer.

POSITIVE PURCHASE: A happy customer shares her recent buy in the popular Facebook group “Buy British For Brexit”

“My family came to the UK in the 70s, and my grandfather, parents, uncles and aunts all went on to work in factories making butter, garments, photo frames, and even cars!

“This was the case for many new arrivals in the UK, particularly from India, Kenya and Uganda. Many were fortunate in that this was just a stepping stone, and they later worked their way into other industries.

“Others did these same jobs all their lives, right up to retirement. They were paid poorly, but the demand for goods meant that their jobs were stable, and they could provide for their families.

Another friendly Facebook group, ‘Buy British’, boasts over 50,000 members

“Confidence in the origins of goods is key to any drive to promote domestic manufacturing. Consumers need confidence in the quality of a product, but where a campaign to Buy British is concerned, a centrally run scheme that has a strict criteria as to what qualifies something to be considered UK made is essential.

“It’s absolutely right to buy UK made goods, and to support our own industries here at home. Of course we don’t make everything in the UK.

“Of course, we import from around the world to meet demand. But making every effort to source goods from our own businesses makes economic sense for businesses, their workers, and for the whole country.”

VoteWatch fully supports Mr Hirani’s noble and sensible endeavour, and we encourage our readers to take just ten seconds before closing this article to click on the below link, sign, and support the nation by BUYING BRITISH.

BREXITEER Richard Tice Takes Over Reform UK

RICHARD Tice is to lead the Reform UK party following today’s announcement from Nigel Farage that he is stepping down and going into ‘semi-retirement’ from politics.

Nigel Farage was expected to take the rebranded Brexit Party into the next general election, but his decision, he said today, was influenced by the success and finalisation of his many decades of fighting for Brexit, and his desire to focus on family and campaigning on other issues.

Mr Farage later announced that he was “delighted to take up a position as Honorary President of Reform UK and will leave the party in the capable hands of Richard Tice.”

A successful businessman, experienced politician and political campaigner, Mr Tice has worked closely with his friend Farage and taken on perhaps the lion share in helping to build the Brexit Party, and later the Reform UK party, and garner nationwide support.

Tice was elected as a Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament for the East of England at the 2019 European Parliament election – holding this role until the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. He was a founder of the popular and influential pro-Brexit campaign groups Leave Means Leave, and Leave.EU.

Recently speaking of Tice in The Spectator, Former UKIP MEP and well-established Brexit campaigner, Patrick O’Flynn, wrote of Tice’s potential to take the party more mainstream:

“If Farage decides that another stint of full-time political leadership is not for him after all, especially given potential lucrative alternative avenues in the media, friends of Tice say he has got the taste for politics now and will be ready to step up and take it forward himself.

“And that should really worry the Tories. Because while Farage’s charisma was crucial in attracting the support of a sizable wedge of the Ukip and Brexit Party electorate, it was accompanied by a ‘Marmite’ quality that put off many others. There is no hint of this with Tice, a debonair smoothy who performs well on television and projects a personality that is likely to prove highly attractive to middle-class shire Tories feeling the onset of mid-term blues.

“Ultimately the pool of voters who would at least give a Tice outfit a look is potentially even wider than the one that would back Farage at the drop of a hat.”

Mr Tice has not yet commented publicly on today’s announcement.

BREAKING: Nigel Farage Announces He’s LEAVING Politics And The Reform Party – “It’s Over”

THE ‘King of Brexit’, Nigel Farage, has shocked the public today by announcing that – after many decades of fighting for Britain, and helping to bring about not only a referendum, but a Britian’s independence – will be leaving politics for good, and stepping down from leading The Reform Party UK.

Mr. Farage, who rose to fame through UKIP and being a first class speaker and outspoken eurosceptic, and later through his successful Brexit Party, had been expected to lead his new party into the next general election. However, it seems that it is likely now to fizzle out, with the man of the show making the decision to step away after a job well done.

I am delighted to take up a position as Honorary President of Reform UK and will leave the party in the capable hands of Richard Tice.

“There’s no going back – Brexit is done,” he told the Sunday Telegraph’s Chopper Politics podcast.

“That won’t be reversed. I know I’ve come back once or twice when people thought I’d gone, but this is it. It’s done. It’s over”.

Mr Farage said he didn’t want to play golf “four times a week followed by half a pint of bitter” but instead intended to campaign against China’s influence in the UK and what he called the “woke agenda”.

“I see our communities being divided more than ever by this agenda. And I’m very worried about it. I want to fight all those things,” he said.

“I have built up over these years quite a considerable social media platform. I’ve got reach. So I want to go on influencing the debate. I want to go on changing debate. But I can do that without going out and fighting elections”.

Mr Farage told the Chopper Politics podcast “the really difficult bit” of politics was the “way it affects those close to you, your family, your children”.

In a video statement posted on Twitter on Saturday night, Mr Farage said Brexit had been his   “life’s work” and had taken over “the best part of three decades” but now is the time to step away.

Farage then posted a video on Twitter announcing his departure from The Reform Party UK, but said that he had been named as an honorary president of the party, which will now be led by Richard Tice.

Farage also said that he will be using his social media influence to campaign against communist China.

EXCLUSIVE: New £350-a-Day Aide & Best Mate Of Carrie Symonds Shared Racist Tweets & Called Brexiteers ‘SCUM’

BREXITEER PM Boris Johnson shouldn’t be happy over the appointment of his fiance’s best friend into a lucrative government aide role, after VoteWatch can reveal that she frequently posts tweets stereotyping white people and calls anyone who voted for Brexit ‘scum’.

The best friend of Boris Johnson’s fiancee Carrie Symonds was given an official paid role without it being advertised – landing her £350-a-day for around a mere two days’ work a month.

The Home Office announced in October that Nimco Ali had been made an adviser on tackling violence against women and girls, after the job role was questionably not advertised through any competitive application process.

The appointment has raised serious questions over fairness and cornyism, after the role was created for Miss Ali, a prominent anti-FGM campaigner who is godmother to Miss Symonds’ son with the Prime Minister.

Yet after investigating Miss Ali’s social media history, VoteWatch can exclusively reveal that not only does the outspoken activist seem to have a troubling problem with white people, but she also believes that Brexit is connected with racism and that people who support leaving the EU are ‘scum’.

In another post, Ali again singled-out and stereotyped white people – this time attacking youths protesting against racism; despite the group involved including many people of colour (even shown in the image accompanying her tweet).

VoteWatch has contacted The Home Office for comment.

Cummings Leaves Number 10 ‘With Immediate Effect’

VOTE LEAVE mastermind Dominic Cummings has quit his role, informing allies that he is ‘leaving for good’ – yet officials have signalled he will continue to ‘help out’ for another month.

The senior advisor and strong force behind both the referendum’s leave result and Boris Johnson’s decisive GE victory staged a photo opportunity for the awaiting press – carrying a box of belongings through the front door of number 10 rather than using the usual back entrance.

Cummings had already signalled long ago that he planned to leave Downing Street this December, writing in a blog that once Brexit had been delivered he would take a step back.

His exit comes after a week of turmoil and alleged bitter infighting that saw close ally Lee Cain resign from office.

Further reports suggest Cummings was asked to leave following a 45 minute explosive meeting in Downing Street, yet this is unconfirmed.

Edward Lister, a trusted aide from Mr Johnson’s days as the popular mayor of London, has temporarily taken over as Chief of staff “pending a permanent appointment to the post”.

Initially, Downing Street refused to say if Mr Cummings had formally quit, amid a suggestion that he could even retain a ‘hot desk’.

A No 10 source insisted: “Dominic Cummings and Lee Cain will continue to work for the PM and No 10 until mid-December.”

PM Boris Johnson has stated he will not back down in the ongoing tense negotiations with the EU, confirming that the UK is prepared for a no deal scenario should Brussels cling to their stubbornness and unreason.

The UK is planning new legislation that will override key parts of the undesirable Brexit withdrawal agreement, with sections of the internal market bill — due to be published this Wednesday — expected to “eliminate the legal force of parts of the withdrawal agreement” in areas including state aid and Northern Ireland customs.

“We are now entering the final phase of our negotiations with the EU” Mr Johnson said. “The EU have been very clear about the timetable. I am too.”

“There needs to be an agreement with our European friends by the time of the European Council on 15 October. If we can’t agree by then, then I do not see that there will be a free trade agreement between us, and we should both accept that and move on.

“We’ll then have a trading arrangement with the EU like Australia’s.

“I want to be absolutely clear that, as we have said right from the start, that would be a good outcome for the UK.

“As a Government we’re preparing, at our borders and at our ports, to be ready for it.  We will have full control over our laws, our rules, and our fishing waters. We will have the freedom to do trade deals with every country in the world. And we will prosper mightily as a result. We will of course always be ready to talk to our EU friends even in these circumstances.  Our door will never be closed and we will trade as friends and partners – but without a free trade agreement.

“There is still an agreement to be had and we will continue to work hard in September to achieve it. It is one based on our reasonable proposal for a standard free trade agreement like the one the EU has agreed with Canada and so many others.

“Even at this late stage, if the EU are ready to rethink their current positions and agree this I will be delighted. But we cannot and will not compromise on the fundamentals of what it means to be an independent country to get it.”
