BIGOT: Peterborough Labour Councillor Slammed For Saying She Doesn’t Trust Pakistani Community

A DESPICABLE Labour Councillor and GP has been slammed after making an outrageous claim about the Pakistani community.

Stereotyping an entire group of people, Councillor Shabina Qayyum, who represents Peterborough’s East Ward, shockingly made the comment to a local constituent who had ‘reached out to her for help’:

The controversial councillor’s vile statement has understandably generated an angry backlash from local residents, with one constituent, Malayeka Sultan, taking to Facebook to publish the above screenshot.

“What Cllr Shabina Qayyum really thinks of the Pakistani community!” Mr Sultan raged. “I am shocked and hurt by these messages. A friend of mine reached out to Cllr Doctor Shabina Qayyum for help with a work matter. This is what Shabina had to say about me and the Pakistani community.”

This is not the first time Qayyum has found herself in hot water.

In June 2019, VoteWatch exposed that Shabina, along with many of her Labour colleagues, had used convicted electoral fraudster Tariq Mahmood to help win her seat.

Mahmood was jailed in 2008 for his role in one of the worst electoral frauds to be perpetrated in the UK this century, following a police investigation that cost the taxpayer almost £1m.

The fraudster, who is known locally by the unflattering nickname ‘wormy’, was locked up along with former Labour mayor Mohammed Choudhary over a sinister scheme to fabricate postal votes.

“They were able to get hold of postal and proxy votes which belonged to voters in the central ward,” prosecuting QC Anthony Leonard said at the time.

“They arranged for postal and ballot papers to be sent not to the voter but to addresses with which each defendant was connected.”

It has been alleged that Mahmood continues to be involved in such activity, and was spotted out campaigning with Labour once again last year.

In 2019, Police were called by the council after Dr Qayyum and Mahmood were accused by an elderly disabled resident of trying to ‘forcefully’ take her postal vote whilst out canvassing.

The doctor appears to be surrounded by colleagues of a similar (closed) mindset, with Councillor Amjad Iqbal recently being criticised by residents over ‘xenophobic’ comments about Polish people.

Iqbal, along with Labour leader and sitting Councillor Shaz Nawaz – who, in his role as an accountant puts aside his ‘socialist values’ to advise rich businessmen how to exploit loopholes to pay less tax – also used ballot-burglar Tariq Mahmood to help win his seat.

A close friend of Mahmood, Cllr Nawaz was even featured with his vote-rigging chum alongside former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in an official Labour campaign video.

Labour has long been a stain on the local constituency, with one former MP, Lisa Forbes, making headlines for appearing to support an antisemitic post on Facebook, and another, MP Fiona Onasanya, losing her seat after being sent to prison.

Onasanya, who was previously shamed for filming herself pretending to take cocaine, took the seat from widely-respected Tory MP and staunch Brexiteer Stewart Jackson by just 607 votes under highly suspicious circumstances – and once again with the help of Tariq Mahmood.

Adding further to their disgrace, last year no less than 7 Peterborough Labour councillors were suspended over allegations of antisemitsm – Dr Qayyum being among them.

Seeing sense and demonstrating their outrage at the polling station, Peterborians now once again have a Tory MP after voting Paul Bristow to represent them in the 2019 general election.

Bristow, born-and-bred in the constituency, has since been praised by locals for his hard work and commitment to improving local services, and for being a strong voice for Peterborians, including the city’s large Pakistani community – decent men and women to whom Dr Qayyum bigotedly refuses to even offer her trust.

A spokesperson from the Peterborough Conservative Association told VoteWatch:

“There is no context that justifies the comment ‘I don’t trust anyone in the Pakistani community’.

“If a Conservative councillor said that, Labour would demand their resignation.

“Cllr Qayyum is constantly accusing others of racism and prejudice. She should take a look in the mirror. Her contempt for her less ‘educated’ voters in East Ward is obvious.”

LABOUR SLEAZE: Prominent Cllr Speaks Out As Residents In Peterborough Report Widespread VOTE FRAUD By Labour Party

THE Deputy Leader of Peterborough Council has spoken to VoteWatch about shocking revelations relating to vote fraud in the city – while Labour have once again been caught using a convicted vote-rigger to campaign for the upcoming local elections.

Peterborough, which has seen two former mayors sent to prison for electoral fraud and a Labour MP serving porridge for perverting the course of justice, has long been blighted by fraud and numerous scandals from its local Labour Party.

In 2019, the city – described by Nigel Farage as ‘another rotten borough’ – made national headlines after VoteWatch exposed MP Lisa Forbes and a string of councillors for using a convicted vote-rigger to help win their seats in local and general elections.

Tariq Mahmood (left) is used extensively by Labour in Peterborough, and even appeared in an official campaign video

Today, VoteWatch exclusively revealed that the Labour Party are once again using Mahmood on their official campaign team in Peterborough, with the infamous crook even given a copy of the electoral register.

In 2008, Mahmood received a 15-month sentence for his part in a “systematic campaign of electoral fraud” in the city, and was imprisoned along with a Labour councillor and Peterborough’s former Labour Mayor, Mohammed Choudhary.

All three were convicted of forgery over a scheme to fabricate votes for the Peterborough city council election, the four-month case costing the taxpayer over £850,000 after the crooked trio were granted legal aid.

BALLOT-BURGLAR: Tariq Mahmood was snapped campaigning on Labour’s official election team again last week

Speaking in 2019, former Peterborough Tory MP and staunch Brexiteer Stewart Jackson said: “Tariq Mahmood should not be involved in politics at all. He has a record for voter fraud and the fact that he is so close to the Labour campaign speaks volumes about the rottenness of the current Labour Party.”

Throwing her hat into the ring to join him was Conservative councillor Shazia Bashir, a former Labour supporter who has openly and bravely spoken-out for years against electoral fraud being allowed to go unchecked in the City.

Bashir claimed that a few years ago she had seen electoral fraud first-hand in Eastern European and Asian areas of the city and firmly believes it still happens now.

She also claimed voters in Peterborough are told to take photographs to prove who they voted for, even though polling stations display signs stating that photography is forbidden.

During the 2019 by-election, observation group Democracy Volunteers sent a team of activists to the city who reported that they had “identified an emerging concern in the frequency in which individuals were observed to be photographing their completed ballot papers”.

Cllr Shazia Bashir has frequently condemned vote fraud in Peterborough

Also sharing his outrage at the time was Cllr Wayne Fitzgerald, who slammed Labour’s use of a convicted vote-rigger – a fact they attempted to cover-up: “Tariq Mahmood is a villain and he was front and centre of the Labour campaign within the Muslim community” he said.

“We receive repeated reports of postal fraud and personation within the largely urban central parts of the city where the Labour vote is strongest.”

Labour MPs Fiona Onasanya and Lisa Forbes both extensively used Mahmood to help ‘win’ their seats in Parliament

Today, the outspoken Councillor and Chairman of the Peterborough Conservative Association, spoke to VoteWatch to once again condemn Labour’s scandalous tactics.

“Voters should have 100% confidence in our electoral system and be certain that everything is above board” he said.

“Sadly, here in Peterborough it seems that is not the case as once again a convicted vote fraudster is seemingly involved in election campaigning for the Labour Party!

“We have already had reports of them harvesting votes from the public and particularly from those that are vulnerable and mostly EU citizens.”

Cllr Fitzgerald is the Deputy Leader of Peterborough City Council

“I myself personally knocked on a door only yesterday whilst out campaigning, and became very suspicious because the postal vote he had in hand was already pledged to the local Labour candidate and possibly in return for a payment of some sorts. In my book, if it smells wrong then it probably is.

“The authorities and the police do really need to crack down on this postal vote problem here in Peterborough and put some tangible resource into catching these election cheats.

“It is not acceptable to hand out bottles of spirits either from the back of 4×4’s on Election Day which I am told is another favourite trick from the Labour Party – we all know it happens and it should be investigated on the day at all Polling stations- it’s basic police work.”

In past elections, the Labour Party have been reported to police and election officials after engaging in numerous breaches of electoral law. This has included large groups of red-rosette-wearing ‘thugs’ loitering outside polling stations to intimidate voters, assaults on locals, intimidation and filming INSIDE polling stations, and allegedly trying to bribe voters for their postal votes, with one resident claiming that a Labour official offered her a new vacuum cleaner if she handed over hers and her friend’s postal votes.

During 2019, both Tariq Mahmood and Councillor Shabina Qayyum were reported to the police after an elderly lady from the Pakistani community accused them of attempting to forcibly steal her postal vote after walking into her home.

“Labour continue to make very poor choices when choosing their political candidates and activists here in Peterborough.” Councillor Fitzgerald told VoteWatch. “They really should get their house in order as they continue to work alongside convicted vote-riggers and other dodgy characters.

“Many will recall they defended their MP Fiona Onsanya to the hilt who was in the end deservedly jailed for lying. Plus their last and failed MP Lisa Forbes, now standing for council on May the 6th is a known antisemite who was, following an investigation, told to undertake “training”. I’m not sure she ever did!

“It’s also interesting to note that the Labour leader here in Peterborough, Shaz Nawaz, is a local accountant whose speciality is tax avoidance and advising his wealthy clients how to pay less tax – now that is irony coming from a so-called socialist.”

Peterborough Councillors Ed Murphy and Heather Skibsted were suspended by the labour Party this month

This month, two Peterborough councillors, Ed Murphy and Heather Skibsted, were suspended from the Labour party.

Cllr Skibsted’s partner, Alan Bull attracted controversy as a Labour Party candidate in 2019 when he is alleged to have said that the Holocaust was a “hoax”. His nomination to be a candidate was reportedly proposed by Cllr Ed Murphy and Bull’s partner Cllr Heather Skibsted at the time, before he was later deselected.

The Labour Party are unwilling to confirm or deny that that their suspension is connected to allegations of anti semitism from the pair.

“Frankly, these people are not fit to hold public office and the public should get rid of them once and for all” Cllr Fitzgerald added.

LABOUR Party In Peterborough Caught Using Convicted VOTE-RIGGER… Again

TARIQ Mahmood, the convicted vote-rigger who made national headlines after being caught helping two MPs and a string of Councillors win their seats in Peterborough, has once again been spotted working with the ‘crooked borough’s’ Labour team.

Holding a copy of the electoral register that could only have been given to him by the local party, Mahmood brazenly posed for a snap while using the personal details to ‘persuade’ local residents to vote Labour in the upcoming local elections.

“They were able to get hold of postal and proxy votes which belonged to voters in the central ward,” prosecuting QC Anthony Leonard said at the time.

“They arranged for postal and ballot papers to be sent not to the voter but to addresses with which each defendant was connected.”

Mahmood has been used by several Labour Councillors, and even MPs, to help ‘win’ their seats

Despite his proven lust for vote-rigging and disregard for British democracy (or perhaps because of it), Mahmood was quickly snapped back up by the local Labour Party, and helped win the Parliamentary seat for Labour in 2017, in which Fiona Onasanya beat popular incumbent Tory MP and staunch Brexiteer Stewart Jackson by a mere 607 votes.

MP Lisa Forbes denied using Tariq Mahmood on her official campaign team during the 2019 By-Election that took place following the arrest and imprisonment of Onasanya. The local Labour Party then dismissed investigations into their use of Mahmood as ‘Islamophobic’ and ‘racist’ in an attempt to silence the story – even sending one of their key activists to harass VoteWatch in the streets.

During a thorough investigation, VoteWatch proved – with dozens of images, video footage, and testimonies – that Forbes and her colleagues had lied about not working with him; establishing that former Labour MPs, local Labour leader Shaz Nawaz, and a number of Councillors – all close friends with Mahmood – were indeed extensively using the ballot-burglar to help run their election campaigns.

At the time, VoteWatch discovered that even an official Labour campaign video tweeted by Jeremy Corbyn featured himself, Lisa Forbes and Tariq Mahmood out campaigning in Peterborough.

Mahmood has also on several occasions been given special access into the count room by the Peterborough Labour Party, during local and general elections – a fact local officials denied until video and photographic evidence proved that, once again, they were lying in an attempt to cover-up his involvement with their party.

Mahmood was not only snapped inside count rooms and working with local Councillors in their campaign offices, but even acted in an official capacity as a ‘teller’ – provided with personal information about local residents, and sitting outside a polling station to record how locals voted.

On several occasions, residents also reported having witnessed Mahmood with ‘a large group of asian men in red rosettes’ intimidating voters outside a polling station in the city’s East Ward.

After yet another suspicious win for Labour that saw Lisa Forbes become Peterborough’s MP by a margin of just 683 votes, an investigation into Mahmood’s activities went underway, discovering that the CCTV footage from a polling station used by Tariq Mahmood on the day had been ‘mysteriously’ erased.

VoteWatch later revealed that the polling station in question was operated by an organisation of which Mahmood was a senior member.

During the Peterborough By-Election, Mahmood and infamous Labour Councillor Shabina Qayuum (another Councillor who used Tariq to help win her seat on the council), were accused by an elderly lady from the Pakistani community who has (as the Daily Mail described) ‘serious health conditions’, of forcefully trying to take her postal vote from inside her home.

Tariq Mahmood and Cllr Qayyum have worked extensively together, and have been accused of attempting to steal a postal vote

Despite calls from angered residents, and from Tory Paul Bristow (now Peterborough’s MP), for Labour to cut all ties with the convicted crook, Labour have refused to do so.

After the 2019 by-election, Nigel Farage described Peterborough as ‘another crooked borough’ following VoteWatch’s investigation into the local Labour Party, with the team shamelessly continuing to embroil itself in further scandals ever since.

This month, Labour Councillor Mohammed Jamil was filmed harassing a local Conservative voter outside their home in Peterborough, with Councillor Shabina Qayyum choosing to laugh rather than demand that the harassment end.

Last week, another Councillor, Amjad Iqbal, was accused of making a xenophobic and racist comment against Eastern Europeans, saying “for majority of them, dumping rubbish in a designated place such as a corner of a road was accepted in their country and they believe it is also allowed in the UK.”

The comment has sparked outrage among the city’s large Eastern European community, including TV chef Damian Wawrzyniak. Peterborough’s local newspaper, Peterborough Today, has so far failed to cover the incident, with its political reporter, Joel Lamy (who also refused to report accurately on Tariq Mahmood’s involvement with Lisa Forbes) described as being ‘very left-wing’.

VoteWatch has contacted the Peterborough Labour branch for comment on why they continue to use a convicted vote-rigger on their campaign team and subject local residents to him during this election.

We will update in due course.

BREAKING: Two Labour Councillors Suspended In Peterborough

TWO well-known Peterborough councillors have been suspended by the Labour Party, meaning that over THIRTY-FIVE Labour politicians have now been either suspended, arrested, or convicted in the past six months alone.

Controversial former local Labour party leader Ed Murphy has been suspended along with Councillor Heather Skibsted.

The reason for their suspension has not yet been confirmed.

The pair are now registered on the council’s website as independents, leaving the local Labour party with just 15 out of 60 seats.

Cllr Murphy, who came under fire during the EU referendum for calling Brexit voters in the eurosceptic city ‘thick’, has not yet commented.

On 9th November 2017, the former Labour Parliamentary candidate also came under fire after proposing Alan Bull as a candidate for the local elections, despite having been shown evidence of his social media activity which included a post calling the Holocaust a “hoax”.

Cllr Skibsted said that her suspension “is an internal Labour Party matter about which I am unable to provide any further information.”

“I will continue to actively serve and support the residents of Orton Longueville ward with any issues that may affect them, as I have the past two years since I was elected in 2019, currently as an independent councillor.”

Easing of lockdown UK: Peterborough MP Paul Bristow hits out at road map out of lockdown dates - Cambridgeshire Live
MP Paul Bristow has suggested that the seats should be up for grabs in May’s local elections

Meanwhile, Peterborough’s popular Tory MP, Paul Bristow, suggested that the two councillors should allow their seat to be contested, considering that they were voted in as Labour candidates, not independents.

“Two Labour councillors out of the #Peterborough Labour Group.” he wrote on Facebook. “Just before the election. As they are no longer Labour councillors (but were elected as Labour), perhaps voters should get a say on 6 May?

“Peterborough Labour are falling apart. They aren’t fit to run our City.”

Peterborough Labour leader Shaz Nawaz, who was slammed during the Peterborough by-election after VoteWatch revealed he had used convicted vote-rigger Tariq Mahmood to win his seat, has declined to comment.

The local Peterborough Labour group have long been blighted by scandals – from vote-rigging to antisemitism and even paedophilia. The branch made national headlines after their denial of using a convicted vote-rigger was proven to be a lie.

Labour’s rabble in Peterborough, however, aren’t the only branch continuously sliding into scandal, with other thirty-five Labour politicians being either arrested, charged, or suspended in the past six months alone.

Their crimes and wrongdoings include child neglect, paedophilia, fraud, and vote-rigging.

To date, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has failed to comment on any of the individual cases.
