PRIME Minister Boris Johnson made a notable swipe at London mayor Sadiq Khan and the Labour party today, correcting Sir Keir Starmer who tried to divert blame onto Tories.
“He’s completely wrong, Mr Speaker, and I’m going to correct him” Boris energetically responded to Starmer’s criticism during PMQs. “The top ten highest taxing councils in this country are run by the Labour Party”.
“He talks about London and my own record on taxes – he should talk to the current Labour mayor of London who is putting up his council tax by ten percent” he continued. “I can tell him that the previous CONSERVATIVE mayor of London [Boris Johnson himself] cut council tax by twenty percent!”
