ANNERELEASED: Dodds SACKED As Labour Shadow Chancellor

Published

ANNELIESE Dodds has joined Angela Rayner in being given the boot from her role within the Labour Party, as Keir Starmer continues to reshuffle his cabinet following this month’s disastrous series of election defeats.

The Labour MP faced growing criticism this year over a lacklustre performance in the role, with Shadow Cabinet Office Minister Rachel Reeves now tipped to replace her.

Meanwhile, Labour MPs have engaged in bitter in-fighting over the reshuffle, with many refusing to accept the demotion of their left-wing colleagues, particularly that of former Chair Angela Rayner.

Keir Starmer has this evening sacked Dodds

The Corbyn-backing MP became the party’s chairman following the rise of Sir Keir Starmer, who took over from far-left Corbyn following Labour’s last serious election defeat in 2019.

Rayner’s sacking is said to be influenced by the result of Hartlepool and other parts of the ‘Red Wall’, and over rumours that she and other ‘Corbynites’ referred to Sir Keir as ‘a trojan horse’ secretly trying to destroy the part.
